Founded in 1999, Vampire Freaks began as just
another BBS site on the internet. It offered a few industrial music
reviews, a bulletin board, and some pictures of a goth kid named Jet
and his friends. It was Jet's personal homepage and focused on his
love of music. Through the eight year span between then and now,
Vampire Freaks has grown into something more, as has our scene. We've
become an alternative to clubs as a place to see and be seen, a place
where people can order clothing that matches tastes that many
communities don't embrace, an avenue for bands to get music out to
the fans that love it the most, and a vein over a million people can
band together at, and drink deeply from. Vampire Freaks provides
access to a lifestyle that many people outside of the glow and hum of
a major city wouldn't be able to taste.
In that spirit, it's only logical to bring that passion for music to
you in another way; VF Magazine, a gorgeous full-color,
64-page vision of what being a RivetHead or MetalHead really means,
from the perspective of the artists that make this scene pulse and
throb. This isn't our side line; we do this with the same ferocity
and passion that has guided us all along, and share that with you, the
reader, in every monthly issue.

Features:
- Ask
Andy, an advice column featuring Combichrist's
Andy LaPlegua that's guaranteed to answer the burning question, 'What
The Fcuk Is Wrong With You People'?
- Detox,
an insidious inside look at the brilliance and blunders of making it
in the music industry, written by someone well verse in both:
CrunchPod Record's Caustic.
- From A Dork Corner, the ultimate guide for
all things great and geeky written by Cesium137 front
man, Isaac Glendening. If it's entertaining, edifying, or irritating,
odds are it's coming From A Dork Corner.
- The
Dark Arts, a column featuring monthly interviews and scorching
pictorials with the boldest artists and most beautiful models in our
scene, conducted and handpicked by world famous fetish model, Kellie
LaPlegua. The Dark Arts will offer a scintillating photo spread and
centerfold that shows the world that we don't have to look the same to
be breathtakingly beautiful.
- Worst Buy, the
review from hell from our beloved editor in chief, and boss (from
Hell), Mr. Benny Hell. Worst Buy is the place to go for what NOT to
buy this month, eviscerated for your viewing pleasure in brutal
detail.
- Dynamic and intimate interviews
with our scenes biggest bands, rising stars, and living legends that
aren't your run of the mill page fillers on equipment, touring
nightmares, and pretentious song backgrounds made up on the spot. We
dig for the reasons behind everything an artist does to help you
better understand and love the people that make our scene vibrant.
- The most extensive and elite reviews of
any magazine in the industry. While others may review dozens of albums
a month, we sift through those dozens and illuminate only the most
sterling releases in the lot. The bottom line? More honest reviews for
you and less filler to sort through when trying to pick something cool
to listen to. Good luck finding that in other music magazines.

FAQ for people that don't pay attention.
Q.) Is it going to be for sale in my country?
A.) I don't know, but I'm going to do my best to get it
there. If you want it, go request it from whatever store you'd like to
see it in. Give them our contact info: Magazine@VampireFreaks.com. Nag
them. Also, email me with their contact info. I'll do what I can to
get it there.
This magazine is going to be distributed
internationally. We're doing the best we can to get it to you, but if
you live somewhere that has a population of 500, odds are that we
aren't going to be able to get your local gas station to carry
it.
Q.) Can I buy a single issue?
A.)
YES. You can buy single copies through Metropolis Mail Order. It'll enable you to
pre-order the magazine. Those pre-orders, and our subscribers, get the
first call on these issues. We have only printed 5000
magazines, which isn't much by comparison to how many of you there
are. Buy it soon, or miss out.
Q.) Is this magazine
going to have an abundance of 'site' related material in
it?
A.) No. The idea is to satisfy all of us, and
enlighten people that aren't on VF yet. They won't have a clue about
what CYB3RP0RK posted in the "1 L1ek W3IN3R D0GZ' cult. Additionally,
neither will I, and since I make this thing go, I have to be in the
know about this. Once other people get a taste of how great this site
is, they'll be here too. In a sense everything we do with this
magazine is a reflection on the site, in that it's written for people
that are into the darker elements of music.
Q.) Is this
only about Industrial?
A.) No. It's about
Industrial, Darkwave, EBM, and Metal. It also has things that
pertain to the darker side of art and a ton of other stuff. The only
way to truly find out if thing rocks or not is to read it. We worked
hard as hell to make sure you can check it out with the hopes that
you'll enjoy it. The only way to know is to get one.
Q.)
Where did you come up with all the amazing forms of visual
presentation?
A.) Tiara
Lynn, my art director = das uberr0xx0rz. Ya dun been told.
